Only one week until spring break! When a break is right around the corner, time seems to crawl by. Time goes by faster when you’re having fun, so check out what there is to do this week in Champaign-Urbana. We’ve got live music, astrology readings, and hikes! Monday, March 9th

Allerton Park’s Natural Areas Managers, Nate and Alex, will be leading a Full Moon Hike tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. on the Allerton grounds. This is a cool opportunity to hike through the woods at night in a safe way, experiencing wildlife and nature in only the light of the moon. See the bright stars, hear the sounds of sleeping woods, and learn about the environment from the experts. Tickets are only $5 for the hike and $10 if you would like a beer. If you plan on going, be sure to register as soon as possible as preregistering is a requirement for this event. Hikers will meet at the Visitor Center at 6 p.m. Learn more here!

Wednesday, March 11th

The Urbana Arts and Culture Program is hosting their 2020 Sneak Peek at Riggs Beer Company! This event is where they “will be presenting a public announcement of the 2020 grant winners in the program’s four categories: Tier I, Tier II, Tier III, and Arts in the Schools.” Join them at Riggs to see the art showcase and to enjoy live music, a cash bar, and complimentary hors d'oeuvre. Thursday, March 12th

Do you like gardening but have no space to do so in your apartment? Learn how to garden for apartment living in Common Ground Food Co Op’s latest workshop. From 6 to 7:30 p.m. learn how to start and grow a small garden in your apartment or on a balcony or patio. “This class will cover seed starting, container gardening, and the perfect herbs, veggies, and other plants to grow in this small setting. Each attendee will choose various seeds to grow and will sow their seeds in their own seedling tray during class to take home and care for.” Tickets for the event are only $15. Catch the quickly-rising Chicago comedian Kristen Tommey at Soma this Saturday. She is the hilarious headliner for CU Comedy’s live standup show. The show runs from 8:30 to 10 p.m. and tickets are just $15. Kristin is “a regular at The Laugh Factory Comedy Club and Comedians You Should Know, [and] she headlined the Chicago Women's Funny Festival and The Chicago Comedy Expo.” Learn more here!

Spend your Saturday night at Rose Bowl Tavern and enjoy the live music from RATBOYS as well as Take Care and Gnarly Beth.
