Monday, February 17th

If you are looking for a new job or are just wanting to see what’s out there in Champaign-Urbana, check out the Job Fair being held at the Champaign Public Library. There will be over 30 CU employers present, resume help, and a raffle to win a Chromebook and gift card. Wednesday, February 19th

Jupiter’s at the Crossing is hosting a board game night! Between 6 and 8:30 p.m., play a game at Jupiter's while enjoying their amazing pizza. Thursday, February 20th

Try a different kind of workout at Alto Vineyard this week at their Pound and Pour event. Workout, shop activewear brand, Zyia, and enjoy a glass of wine! Here is a brief description of what kind of workout pound is: 

POUND is a cardio jam-session inspired by the energizing and sweat dripping fun of playing the drums. Using lightly weighted drumsticks specifically designed for exercising, POUND is an incredibly effective workout. Try it for yourself and come rock out! No prior fitness experience required as modifications for all fitness levels will be shown.

Tickets are only $10 ($15 if you would like a drink), and they suggest you bring a yoga mat. The class starts at 6:30 p.m. but get there a bit early to set up and shop at the Zyia pop-up shop. Learn more about the event here

Harvest Market is throwing a Mari Gras party this Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Feel like you’ve stepped into the streets of New Orleans with soul food, jazzy music, and fun drink specials. They will be serving shrimp po’ boys, gumpo red beans and rice, cornbread, and beignets. UIUC musicians will be playing Mardi Gras style music pstair in the Mezz. Sunday, February 23rd


Dovie Thomason, a storyteller and activist, will be at Spurlock Museum from 2 to 3:30 p.m. to give a free storytelling performance. As part of the “18th annual Winter Tales celebration honoring the cultures of Indigenous Americans and the wisdom and practices they share with others,” Thomason will be giving a performance of traditional stories as well as stories about some of the atrocious experiences inflicted upon Native Amerians in the 1800’s.
