This is the last week of july. It’s hard to believe that August first is THIS coming Saturday. How did the summer go by so quickly yet feel so long? Hopefully everyone has had a safe summer and is ready to come back to UIUC in a few weeks!
If you’re in town now, there are many fun events happening in Champaign Urbana this week! For those who are out of town, there are a few online events you can check out, as well. Read on to see what’s happening this week in town, and try to make the last week of July as eventful as possible!
Tuesday, July 28th
The River Brothers are performing at the Iron Post in downtown Urbana tomorrow from 6 to 8 p.m. Enjoy the summer night air on the patio while listening to the band play folk, blues, rock and some original music. Wednesday, July 29th
Kim Sheahan, the resident storyteller at Spurlock Museum, will be offering a live storytelling session tomorrow starting at 11:15 a.m. The story will be about 30 minutes long and can be found on Spurlock’s Facebook page. Find more information by following this link!
This event can be viewed either in person or via live streaming this Wednesday between 7 and 10 p.m. Catch singer Tommy Kelly perform at Sipyard in Urbana! It will be a fun night however you choose to participate. Learn more about the ways to watch by clicking here.
Thursday, July 30th
Take a virtual trip to Lollapalooza this weekend! You can view the hundreds of amazing performers live on YouTube for FREE. Instead of the usual festival in Chicago, Lollapalooza can be seen by all on YouTube during a four day event. Check out the lineup here and learn more about where to go to see your favorite musicians!
