It’s another busy week in Champaign-Urbana! There is a lot to do, so let’s jump right in to all that’s going on this week in town.

Tuesday, July 14th

Times have been tough lately, so now more than ever it’s important to take care of yourself. Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Institute and University of Illinois Extension have created a webinar series to teach self-care techniques. Tuesday’s topic is about making your habits stick. Habits are key to living the life you want and taking control of your day. “Learn what the science says regarding scaling adherence to your current level of preparation, and how to apply it to common frustrating areas: diet and exercise.” The session is offered from noon to 1 p.m. online. It is free to join, but you should register beforehand. Learn more about the series by clicking on this link!

Wednesday, July 15th

Get crafty and learn how to make something new this Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The Champaign Public Library is hosting their Crafty Adults online, so you can follow along with them while making your craft at home. They do a new craft every month, and this month it is macrame keychains! You will learn five different knots to make your own unique keychain. Supply kits can be picked up at the library after you have reserved your spot online. See the event page for more details.

Friday, July 17th

Allerton Park hosts their Midsummer Blues concert every year, but this year it will be a virtual event. You can tune in from home to watch the “Midsummer Blues Concert featuring Billy Galt. Listen as Guitarist and Singer, Billy Galt Music, performs a selection of blues songs, from the Allerton Music Barn, that are sure to complement the warm, summer evening.”   How to watch: “Visit the Allerton Park and Retreat Center Facebook page on Friday, July 17 at 6:00 pm to find the concert video. Make sure you’re settled in a peaceful spot, perhaps with a refreshing drink in hand, before pressing play to enjoy the show.” For more information click here!

CU Comedy and Alto Vineyards are hosting an Outdoor Comedy Night this Friday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the vineyards. See local comedians perform their stand up routines, enjoy a glass of wine, and be ready to laugh. Learn more about the social distancing precautions and where you can buy your tickets here

Saturday, July 18th

See Candy Foster and Shades of Blue at the Rose Bowl Tavern this Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. Listen to some great live blues while practicing social distancing.
