October 23rd-27th 5 Nights of Hitch
This week at the Virginia Theatre you can prepare for Halloween by taking in a different suspenseful Hitchcock film every night! Each film begins at 7pm and only costs $6 per screening or $24 for all 5 films. This year the series will feature Strangers on a Train on Monday, The Trouble with Harry on Tuesday, To Catch a Thief on Wednesday, Rebecca on Thursday, and Psycho on Friday. Tuesday October 24th- Free Marlon Wayans Homecoming Comedy Show
The Illini Union presents this year’s homecoming comedy show with actor and comedian Marlon Wayans! The show starts at 7pm and is FREE when you present your I-Card. The plan is for it to be held outside at Anniversary Plaza, so bring your blankets or lawn chairs! If it is raining then it will be held in Illini Union Rooms ABC.
Wednesday October 25th- Learn to Make a Coral Bowl
Cracked Glass Art Class Studio located at 602 E High St. is having a class to make Coral Bowls! The class is from 6pm-9pm. You will make 2 bowls or votives during the class. No experience is necessary! The class costs $50 and you can bring in your own glass if you would like. For more information or to sign up for the class visit the event page.
Friday October 27th- Homecoming Block Party/Parade
Celebrate the 2017 Illini Homecoming Friday at 5pm with a block party along the main quad! You will be able to get a ton of free food/giveaway items. Find our booth to receive our giveaways: sunglasses, frisbees, cups, pens, and more! Then at 6pm the Homecoming parade will begin. You can view the parade route here
Friday October 27th- Trevor Noah at the State Farm Center
Come out at 8pm on Friday to see Trevor Noah from Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show.” He will be performing at the State Farm Center. Tickets range from $35-$45, University of Illinois Students receive a student discount.
Saturday October 28th- Fighting Illini Football vs. Wisconsin
Support the Fighting Illini Football team this Saturday against the Wisconsin Badgers for the 2017 Homecoming game. Kickoff is at 11am. Students can tailgate for free at Grange Grove starting at 7am on Saturday. There will also be a performance by the band “90’s Daughter” You can enjoy food trucks and other booths on First Street right outside of Grange Grove.
