Saturday was the first official day of summer. It seems like the heat has been here for too long already, but it’s only just beginning. With Champaign-Urbana business opening back up, it’s the perfect time to celebrate the start of summer. Dine outside at your local favorites or order to-go and have a picnic. Not only are restaurants and stores open, the CPM office is now open to the public! We have some updated guidelines to keep everyone safe, so keep an eye out for the new blog post with all of that information.

Tuesday, June 23rd.
Get your farm fresh produce and specially made baked goods at the Champaign Farmers Market! The market is set up each Tuesday in the center parking lot in Downtown Champaign. You can shop from 3 to 6 p.m.while wearing a mask and maintaining responsible social distancing. Get more information here!
Wednesday, June 24th
Join in a Zoom discussion hosted by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, ELCA to talk about the Netflix documentary, 13th. Here is a brief description of the film- “Filmmaker Ava DuVernay explores the history of racial inequality in the United States, focusing on the fact that the nation's prisons are disproportionately filled with African-Americans.”

Thursday, June 25th
This is a yoga class that is a little different than ones you may have taken before. Try Body Aware Yoga! Instructor Manuel Mejia, is hosting this class in Carle Park at 4 p.m. this Thursday. Tickets are donation based, but it’s recommended to pay $5 to $15. This class is meant to help participants find alignment and bring awareness to their bodies. If you ever struggle with yoga or working out, this could be a great class for you to try. Learn more about the class by following this link! Blackbird Urbana is having a reopening party in their beergard! You can grab a table on their large patio for $10 and get a cocktail and Manolo’s Pizza. There will be music and good times as they celebrate being able to serve the community again. Blackbird asks that guests please wear a mask when not seated at their table. This Friday is the opening day for the Champaign Public Library! Both the main library and the Douglas branch will be reopening this week. They made some modifications to the services they offer, so be sure to check them out before you visit. Updated hours- Main Library: Mon-Thu 9-9; Fri-Sat 9–6; Sun 12–6 and Douglass Branch: Mon-Thu 10-8; Fri 10-6; Sat 10-4. For more information click the link!
