Heading into November is always an exciting time. Sadly, Halloween is over, but Thanksgiving break is close (thank goodness), and the holidays are on their way! If this little time between Halloween and Thanksgiving seems boring, think again. Champaign-Urbana has something going on each week to ensure that there is never a boring time in town. If you look for something fun to do here, you’ll find it. Here is what’s happening this week in town!

Tuesday, November 5th

You may remember the summer music series, Patio Play, hosted by Houlihan’s. Well, if you enjoyed that, you’ll love the cozier, indoor version, Live in the Lounge! Enjoy live music each week as well as half priced wine! This Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, catch Sam Gingher perform at the Lounge. They will have a new musician perform every Tuesday, so you’ll have plenty of chances to make it for a nice evening of wonderful cuisine and music. Thursday, November 7th

Check out this cool art event at the Krannert Art Museum this Thursday at 7 pm! Here’s a small taste of what this performance is about:

“TIGER is the 5th performance from Deke Weaver’s life-long Unreliable Bestiary project: a performance for each letter of the alphabet, each letter represented by an endangered animal or habitat. Built for small theaters, living rooms, and barns, TIGER is more intimate than it’s sprawling older brothers MONKEY, ELEPHANT, WOLF, and BEAR.  Part Spalding Gray, part Laurie Anderson, TIGER might feel like a travelogue, a séance, a Parisian salon: dark thoughtful humor for the anthropocene. Written, performed, and codirected by Deke Weaver, TIGER’s award-winning collaborators include codirector/dramaturg Jayne Wenger, costume designer Susan Becker, sound designer Jacob Ross, and visual artist Melissa Pokorny (unreliablebestiary.org/bios).”
