Alright, guys. This is it. The last week of summer. Are you ready to go back to school? Have you done all you wanted to this summer? Well, there is still ONE WEEK left of freedom, so let's try to make the absolute most of it. There are many fun ways to enjoy the last of summer in Chapaign-Urbana, so check out what's going on this week in town!

Tuesday, August 20th

Lodgic Champaign is hosting their first Coffee with HBAECI: A New Brew for 2019 at 8:30am this Tuesday. This new reoccurring event will take place every third Tuesday of each month. You can expect to learn more about coffee and how best to make it while making connections with others in CU. This event includes a free breakfast with the coffee demonstration. Wednesday, August 21st

Unlimited tacos is the best way I've ever heard of to get ready for school. Maize is delivering the goods this Wednesday with unlimited tacos for $30 or 3 tacos and 2 beers for $20! Triptych Brewing will be there to teach you about their awesome beer, and there will be live music from Ryan Groff at 7pm. This event takes place between 6 and 9pm at Maize on 116 N Chestnut. For more info click here!

Thursday, August 22nd

Join Common Ground Food Co-op Thursday at 6pm for their fun and tasty cooking demonstration. Led by John McNally, this demonstration will show you how to make vegetable tapas and sauces with fresh, local produce. "Some dishes include miso glazed carrots, cucumber salad, roasted peppers and more!" This lesson includes trying food and taking away a new skill. Friday, August 23rd

For UIUC students, the Illini Union is holding their annual LateNighter! This event is a great way to start the school year, especially if this is your first year at UIUC. Meet new people while enjoying FREE food, games, inflatables, prizes and giveaways, comedians, and live music. It's also a great time to familiarize yourself with the Union, where much of campus involvement takes place. LateNighter runs from 8pm to 1am! For more info, check out the event page

The Urbana Sweetcorn Festival is here again! Everyone's favorite way to celebrate corn. This is the Sweetcorn Festival's 45th year! Be sure to head to Downtown Urbana for the delicious food (most of it featuring Illinois' favorite: corn), drinks, entertainment, and more. The two day event runs Friday- 5pm to midnight and Saturday- 11am to midnight. 

Saturday, August 24 & 25th

Still looking for apartment stuff? Look no further! This weekend is the annual Dump & Run. Held at the Stock Pavilion, this event is like the biggest garage sale you've ever seen. Here's what the University YMCA, host of Dump & Run, has to say about why you should shop here this weekend: "Every year, we are able to divert tons of reusable, quality stuff from the landfill because of YOU. Volunteer, donate, and shop @ the Y's #DumpandRun, a community recycling program and one of the largest garage sales in C-U."
