Hopefully everyone is keeping warm and getting a good start to the week. As the semester’s workload picks up and the stress is imminent (or more likely, very here), it’s important to take a little time for fun! There are many exciting activities to enjoy this week, so it will be worth it to venture out into the cold. From concerts and plays, to cats and coffee, something in this list of event highlights will help keep the cold and stress from making us too miserable. Let’s take a look at what’s happening in Champaign-Urbana this week!

Tuesday, November 12th

Tuesday, from 7:30 to 9 pm, see a moving performance at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. From the London-based Theatre Re comes a moving piece of performance art with The Nature of Forgetting. Here is a little bit about what the performance is about:

At the intersection of art and science, The Nature of Forgetting bursts with creativity, joy, and heartache. Collaborating with London neuroscientist Kate Jeffery, Theatre Re has created a moving articulation of the countless dimensions of memory and amnesia, linking science with real life experiences. Through movement of great physicality and compelling live music, The Nature of Forgetting is the story of Tom- a middle aged father struggling in the early stages of dementia. The piece, and Tom’s memories, are a life-affirming journey into a weakened mind, where broken does not have to mean defeated. A journey of shining humanity and celebration of a life well lived.
