Just like that, it’s Monday once again. The weekend was full of so many things to do for Homecoming, it feels like it could have lasted forever! The game was close, but the Illini pulled through with a win. It’s a good feeling going into the week as winners!
This week, there are plenty of spooky things to do in preparation for Halloween next Thursday, as well as some free events around campus. See what’s going on this week in town!
Today begins Graduate Student Appreciation Week! Grad students have a heavy workload, as many know from personal experience, so The Graduate College at Illinois is celebrating all the hard work that they do. If you are a grad student, check out this schedule to see all the activities and free events you can partake in this week! From free coffee and snacks to ice skating and bowling, it will be a fun week to give you some relief from studying!
The News-Gazette is putting on a classic monster film series this week at The Virginia Theatre. Each night this week at 7 pm, see one of these classic films from the 1930's for only $6! ($24 if you plan to see all of them)

Wednesday, October 29th

It can be kind of expensive to buy a bottle at the store, so Delight Flower Farm will show anyone who wants to learn how to make their own! Using simple ingredients including farm fresh flowers, you get the step-by-step walkthrough of how to brew your own kombucha. Get ready to be scared! ACME Elfworks ArtSpace is putting on a delightfully terrifying event: Haunted. If art and Halloween sounds like a good combination to you, this is where you need to be!
“Prepare to be scared! Or at least intrigued, and maybe even delighted and amused, by the creepy, ghostly, ghoulish, dark, mysterious, bone-chilling array of art featured in the "Haunted" exhibition Oct. 18-Nov. 2 at ACME Elfworks ArtSpace (518 Lincoln Building, 44 E. Main St., downtown Champaign, Ill.). Work by 14 artists from Central Illinois — and far beyond — will be featured. Haunted art will include paintings, sculpture, photography, batik and mixed media.”

Saturday, October 26th
Get your Halloween costumes ready because this Friday is the Punch Line Productions and Pizza FM Halloween house party and concert! Cover is $7 for those without a costume, but only $5 for those decked out in their Halloween finest. Live music will be performed by Zørila, The Data Waves, The Telephone Junkies, and Vitamin B+.
