This is the last week of October! Everyone’s calendars are probably full of Halloween-related activities, of which there are plenty on and off campus. We’ll let you know all of the Halloween events to look out for as well as other fun things to do this week in town. Let’s get started! 

Monday, October 28th

Stop by Harvest Market for trivia and autumn drinks and donuts! They will have Halloween cocktails along with nonalcoholic beverages, and boozy and non-boozy donuts! Trivia begins tonight at 7 pm. There are only 50 seats available, so be sure to get there early if you want to participate in the trivia! If you don’t want to participate in the trivia night, you can still enjoy their specialty cocktail and donut pairings. For more info and to check out the full menu, click here

Tuesday, October 29th

The Champaign’s farmers’ market is ending this Tuesday. The season is ending with a master mash! Dress up and shop for all your favorite local produce. Since it’s a Monster Market, there will be some extra spooky elements. FInd tricks, treats, crafts, balloon animals, and a costume contest as well as many other Halloween themed activities for all ages to enjoy! The market will run from 3:30 to 6:30 pm in downtown Champaign. Follow this link for more info! 

Need something to brighten up your apartment? Don’t want too much responsibility? Try getting a succulent! Tuesday, from noon to 4 pm, Built By Girls at UIUC is having a succulent sale at the Illini Union. 1 plant is $4 and 2 plants are $7.  Click here to visit the event page. 

Wednesday, October 30th

Everyone’s favorite Halloween film is playing at the Urbana Free Library! See Hocus Pocus, the 1993 film about three sisters who are witches and out to eat the children of Salem! This event is Free and open to everyone! The film starts at 6 pm. Here’s a bit more about what you can expect at the showing!

Gather in Cherry Alley (parking lot side of the library) at 5pm for fun and games for the whole family including a pop-up photo booth, pumpkin decorating, costume contest, and more! Plus cider and the Champaign County History Museum's historic popcorn truck! Bring your costumes and your picnic blankets/chairs and get ready for a night to remember! The film screens at 6pm!

Thursday, October 31st

La Casa Cultural Latina and Illini Union Board are hosting a Dia De Los Muertos program from 6 to 9 pm! 

Here’s what they have to say about the program: On Thursday, October 31st, 2019 at the Illini Union rooms ABC, we will be hosting our annual Dia De Los Muertos program! As part of DDLM, we will be having free food, activities, and altars/ofrendas to honor those who have passed.

Sunday, November 3rd


Grab your racing shoes and your sweet tooth, the Champaign-Urbana Special Recreation Cupcake 5K is back! The race begins at 9 am at Parkland College and ends with a cupcake!
