The last day of online classes is this Wednesday for UIUC, and then it’s just one week of finals before summer vacation officially starts. Though it kind of feels like it’s been a weird and stressful version of vacation for awhile now, it will be so nice not to worry about classes for a couple of months.
If you are moving out in June, please read through our moving out guide. The guide tells you all about what needs to be done with your apartment before you turn in your keys so you can be sure you don’t get fined. Clean well and pack up everything! Click here for all the Move Out Guidelines.
This week, there are a variety of online events in which you can take part. Improv, stand up, Cinco de Mayo, mediation, and surprise baby farm animals are just a few events happening online. If you love to laugh, want an excuse to bust out your margarita maker, or need to spend some time to reconnect with yourself, you’ll find something here that will be just what you need this week.
Let’s get into what’s going on this week at home!
Monday, May 4th
Start the week off on a good foot with a guided meditation. The University of Illinois Counseling Center hosts Mindfulness Mondays to help people meditate and de-stress. The free zoom class runs from 4:15 to 4:45 p.m. Find the link for the class and learn more about the benefits of meditation by clicking here.
Tuesday, May 5th
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo virtually! Order takeout from your favorite Mexican restaurant, mix up some margaritas, and settle in for a day of music and comedy. First, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts is hosting a LIVE performance of Mariachi Herencia de Mexico from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Click this link to learn more.
