Another lovely week in Champaign-Urbana for some local events! Even with the “Spring” weather (we all know it’s winter), there is still plenty to do before the week comes to a close.

Amazon Echo Givaway

Of course, Campus Property Management has another great promotion. Starting April 2nd every lease signed will receive an Amazon Echo for the apartment and an echo dot per person on the lease. In addition, if you sign a 4 Bedroom lease with 4 people, you will receive a 50-inch Television for the apartment! That is a pretty lucrative deal, you need a place to live and there’s free stuff that makes it seem fancy (as amazon products tend to do). This promotion is only available on campus.

Sure, this is a reoccurring event, but the opportunity to learn how to do 3D printing is limitless! Here are some details, and here is the Facebook event. This event takes place on 4/5/2018 this week.

“Welcome to the diverse world of 3D printing! Our experienced Gurus will give a brief overview of the MakerLab and the different 3D printing methodologies, as well as their benefits and limitations. You will learn how to operate a 3D printer while downloading, preparing, and printing files from a digital library (Thingiverse)!

This workshop costs $15 per participant (excluding registration fees) and also counts towards the completion of a Digital Maker Certificate issued by the UIUC College of Business, Illinois MakerLab!”

Sometimes a movie leaves theatres too quickly, and sometimes money is tight or the film isn’t released in all theatres, the Art Theater gives you plenty of opportunities to catch up on films you may not have seen or would love to see again for a low cost! The showings start on 4/06/2018, check out the Facebook event for more details.

“$5 tickets!

Vibrant colors, symmetric imagery, meticulous production design, and swift camera pans — those are the building blocks of the Wes Anderson universe and THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL is back at the Art to pull us into his world ahead of the April 13 premiere of Isle of Dogs.

Wes Anderson’s previous title (which camped at the Art for a solid month in 2014!) recounts the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend.

The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune — all against the back-drop of a suddenly and dramatically changing Continent.

‘One of Wes Anderson’s cleverest and most gorgeous movies.’ — Michael Phillips, The Chicago Tribune”

Stop by the barn to meet the “kids”. We have over 50 baby goats born in March, with more on the way. Please note signs on the pens that specify which goats can be pet or not (as the newborns shouldn’t be pet by guests until they’re a little older). And don’t forget to step next door and visit with the does.

Show your support of local, sustainable farms by picking out a few items through our on-site store, The Real Stand. We’ll have cheese and gelatoes that are made by the Praire Fruits Farm team. We also feature products from local farms such as Bane Family that produces meats & eggs. T-shirts, sweatshirts and home goods available too.

Our address is: 4410 N Lincoln Ave, Champaign, IL 61822
Unlike last season, Lincoln Ave is now open. You can take Lincoln Ave or Olympian Drive to get here. See our site for directions:

We have about 30 parking spaces on our farm. Staffers will be on hand helping guests find parking spots. Please consider carpooling and coming early, as parking is limited.

As our farm is a working farm, we ask that you leave your pets such as dogs at home. Our herd and working dogs get disrupted. Outside pets are not welcome.”
