At Flying Machine Avionics, there’s a concert! It’s for a cold day, in a coffee shop, with amazing musicians, and it’s going to be relaxing! This is a perfect way to calm down from the extreme cold and celebrate the end of January!
“Ryan Groff of Elsinore & Kayla Brown of We The Animals can’t play enough shows together. This pair of musical siblings love sharing their musical selves and love doing it in a comfortable, welcoming environment as often as possible. That’s this show. An intimate mid-winter showcase of songs from both their band’s new records, which should be out in the very near future. And you can catch both of them in February as part of The 28th Annual Great Cover Up (2019), too! This is a 7 o’clock start, all-ages, and just a $5 cover. Plus some of the best food & coffee in Champaign-Urbana. Be there!”
This is a great way to get connected to the local community! One Winter Night has been going on for several years, it is to raise awareness and fundraise for the homeless in Champaign Urbana, CU at Home has a drop in day center called The Phoenix and they provide transitional housing and organize events and connect organizations so that they may better serve the community.
“One Winter Night is an annual event that provides a powerful opportunity for our community to learn about homelessness, raise awareness for our friends without an address, and experience a bit of what it might be like to be outside, overnight, in the coldest part of a Central Illinois Winter.
Box dwellers commit to spending 12 hours outside in a cardboard box, along Neil Street in downtown Champaign and raising $1,000 for C-U at Home.
We invite the whole family downtown to join us -view our documentary, visit the kid’s corner, or attend any of our speaker presentations.
You can get involved with us by donating or signing up to be a box dweller, business sponsor, or volunteer!”
Chambana has quite a bit of talented individuals and groups, and this is a great way to see them! It is also a fundraiser, so enjoy the talent and feel good about the money you paid for it!

This 4th annual talent competition doubles as a fundraiser in support of local charities who do not have the capacity to host a major benefit. Monies raised will have a material impact on the lives of the people served by local nonprofit organizations. In addition, funds raised will allow Champaign West Rotary Charities to provide quick financial response to emergency needs of charities in our community.
