Summer is great for many reasons: longer days, hours spent in the sun, swimming, outdoor activities, etc. While summer activities are really fun, they can wreak havoc on your skin. Sunburns, dry skin, oily skin, dullness. The summer can bring about different types of skin issues for many people.

This week’s DIY will make summer skin care a breeze. There are also masks to just keep your skin looking bright and healthy! Find the mask for your skin type below, and treat yourself (and your skin) to a spa day at home. Let’s get started!

Dry Skin

If you have dry skin, try this super simple mask. You will need to mash together half an avocado and 1 tablespoon of honey. Leave on for 10 to 20 minutes before washing it off.

Oily Skin

If your skin is more on the oily side, you should make this mask! You will need 1 egg white and 2 tablespoons of fresh aloe. Mix the two ingredients together, spread on your face and then wash it off after 10 minutes.

Dull Skin

To get some glow back into dull, dry skin, try this 3 ingredient mask you can make with stuff you probably have at home. Mix 1 tablespoon of Greek yogurt (plain), 1 teaspoon of honey, and 1 teaspoon of oatmeal together. Rub onto your face and let sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Your skin will feel so soft once you wash it off!

Sun Damaged Skin

A sunburn is almost inevitable in the summer. To help with burned skin you can always use the tried and true aloe plant or gel. But here is a different mask you can make to help soothe your skin. Mash 1 tomato without its skin or seeds and mix it with 1 teaspoon of cucumber juice, 2 teaspoons of yogurt, and 4 mint leaves. Leave on your face for 20 minutes before washing off with cool water.

Another mask for sun damage is this one made with the juice of half an orange and 1 teaspoon of yogurt. Mix and apply to your face, leaving it on for 15 minutes. This is a great way to nourish the damaged skin.
