When life gets us down, we sometimes just need a day where everything is alright. That day is today, and the day is Pretzel Day. If you are even the smallest fan of The Office or are well-versed in memes, then you will know that Pretzel Day happens just one day a year at Dunder Mifflin Paper Company. That one day where the pretzel trolley comes to the building is what gets Stanley Hudson, notorious grump of the office, through his entire year.

If one pretzel can make Stanley happy and able to put up with Michael Scott, then why couldn’t a pretzel cheer us up a little in the midst of a global pandemic? In this DIY we will be learning how to make homemade pretzels! You could stop there, or you could make the day really special by mixing up “The Works.” Stanley may be the one waiting all year for Pretzel Day, but Michael’s order of every topping imaginable (well, all 18 toppings offered to him) on his pretzel is what I need in my life today. Sometimes you just can’t choose and need all the sweets.

Now, this video is from an incredibly talented and precise chef who has the YouTube channel, Binging with Babish. His cooking skills may be intimidating, but if you take the time to follow the recipe and prepare your ingredients ahead of time, making your own pretzels will be a piece of cake!

Here are the 18 toppings that are on Michael's pretzel: sweet glaze, cinnamon sugar, chocolate, white chocolate, fudge, M&Ms, caramel dip, mint chip, chocolate chip, marshmallows, nuts, toffee nuts, coconut, peanut butter drizzle, Oreo, sprinkles, cotton candy bits, and powdered sugar.

For the actual pretzels you will need 2 cups of whole milk, 2 packets of active dry yeast, 6 tablespoons of light brown sugar, 3 ¼ cups of flour, 1 cup of bread flour, 2 teaspoons of salt, and 4 tablespoons of cooled melted butter.
