September 22nd was the first day of fall! It’s the best season, in my opinion. What can compare to 60 degree days, colorful leaves, apple picking, and Halloween? I’m so here for it. If you’re excited for the changing season and want to spruce up your apartment with some autumnal decor, you are in the right place. This week’s DIY post features several cute fall decorations. As always, if you try any of these DIYs, show us on Instagram! Tag us in a photo of your completed project to be featured on our story.
Let’s get started!
Felt Leaf Garland
This garland is a great way to add a little color and whimsy to a space. You can customize the one you make by choosing your favorite colors and making the garland as long or short as you need it to be. For this project, you will need colored felt, yarn, scissors, and a needle. To make the leaf garland, all you need to do is cut out the leaves and stitch the yarn lengthwise through each leaf, stringing them all together. Find the original tutorial here!
Pumpkin Mason Jars
We can’t have a DIY post without at least one mason jar involved. These pumpkin jars are super easy to make and only require a few items to put them together. You’ll need mason jars, orange paint, brown paint, wooden pegs, cardstock, and glue. You can follow along with this tutorial for the specific steps. These pumpkin jars make great gifts and are an adorable addition to the kitchen counter.
Glittery Framed Acorns
Turn those acorns you find on the street into art! You may look a little odd gathering acorns on the ground around campus, but this craft is cute enough to make it worth the judgement. This glittery acorn display can be made with acorns, glue, glitter glue, glitter, a hot glue gun, a frame, cardstock, and a paintbrush. Basically, you will paint the acorns with the glitter glue and sprinkle with more glitter, let dry, and then glue onto the cardstock. Place the cardstock with the acorns attached in the photo frame, and you have an artsy acorn decoration. Click here for the step-by-step walkthrough!
