Halloween Pet a Pup

Tuesday, October 31st- Halloween Pet-a-Pup

The Illini Service dogs will be out on the main quad from 11am to 2pm on Tuesday! It only costs $1 and you get to pet all of their pups. AND the dogs will be in costume! All proceeds from the event will go back into training the service dogs so don’t forget to stop by in between classes.

 

South African Dance Festival

Wednesday November 1st- Festival of South African Dance

Krannert Center is hosting the Festival of South African Dance featuring The Gumboots and Real Actions Pantsula Dance Company. Tickets start at just $10 and the show begins at 7pm. The Gumboots will be telling the story of migrant men in “Stimela the Musical.” The Real Actions Pantsula Dance Company is a young, diverse, group of performers who are dedicated to education and social justice.  Tickets can be purchased on the Krannert Website. 

 

ISM Pippin

Thursday November 2nd – ISM Presents Pippin

Illini Student Musicals presents Pippin for their fall 2017 musical! There are shows November 2nd & 3rd at 7:30pm and November 4th at 2pm & 7:30pm. You can see the show at the Lincoln Hall Theater. Tickets are $10 for students and $12 for non-students. You can buy your tickets here. 

 

Jamnesty Benefit Concert

Friday November 3rd- Jamnesty 

Jamnesty is benefit concert put on by Amnesty International UIUC Chapter. Come out at 9pm on Friday to support the cause and see some great bands! The lineup for the night is Fake Friend, Stewart Arp, and DJ Manta. Wristbands are $5, also bring some cash for raffles! The show is at 801 W Oregon St. Urbana. Saturday November 4th- Lyle Lovett & John Hiatt

These two singer/songwriters will be together on stage at the Virginia Theatre this Saturday! The show starts at 7:30pm and the doors open at 6:30pm. If you are not familiar with these performers, the Virginia Theatre Website describes Lyle Lovett as a “Texas-based musician fuses elements of country, swing, jazz, folk, gospel, and blues in a convention-defying style that breaks down walls.” John Hiatt is described as “a self-aware chronicler of both his own and others’ stumbles and epiphanies, the tales richer with each telling.” This is a show you will not want to miss! Sunday November 5th- Cheese Pairings Class

Impress everyone in your life by learning all about Cheese! Prairie Fruits Farm and Creamery is hosting a cheese class on Sunday from 1pm-3pm. They are going to go over all of the basics of different cheese styles, then the real fun begins, the tasting! Guests will be able to taste various cheeses with all sorts of foods and beverages.
