Well quite a bit of you have left our grand town, and us townies (plus some) are still leftover for the summer. Don’t worry though, there are many events that are worth pursuing, all grand and wonderful!
Yes that’s right, the Champaign Farmers Market is back! Get your fresh produce and make some delicious, hopefully healthy, meals. Every Tuesday from May 15th until October 30th you can find the market open at 3:30 until 6:30! Take a gander at the link, visit the market, and enjoy the food!
“Join your local farmers, beekeepers, bakers, coffee roasters, and pizza makers every Tuesday for fresh, local food in the heart of Downtown Champaign. From 3:30-6:30 you can pick up veggies, fruits, honey, flowers, baked goods, coffee, and more, all grown, raised or produced within 150 miles of Champaign.
Get a taste of the market each week at the Sampling Tent, and meet your local organizations and businesses in the Community Tent. You’ll also find our seating area where you can hang out and enjoy the atmosphere, music, and let the little ones play at our kids’ table. Market Seedlings, our monthly kids’ program returns on the last Tuesday of the month with activities with Common Ground Food Co-op and the Champaign Public Library.
We’ll also offer SNAP matching once again. Swipe your Link card at the Land Connection tent for tokens you can spend at the market, and we’ll match your purchase up to $20 EVERY WEEK. Plus, at the second Market of every month, we’ll offer an additional match–that’s up to $40 extra to spend on fresh, seasonal produce.”

It’s the 5th Annual Roots Walk! Wowza, this has been going on for 5 years? Pretty impressive, basically it’s a nice day to walk in the park with free roots music! I haven’t gone yet but maybe this year I’ll make it out, hopefully you do too! The root to all of this information is this link!
