Champaign Farmers Market- September 12th
Come out Tuesday from 3:30-6:30pm in the Parking lot by Neil and Main in downtown Champaign. You will enjoy fresh local foods and a variety of activities. There will also be music, a seating area, and dragon fire pizza. This week you will be able to pick up the last of the watermelon and strawberries from WE Produce. Japanese Tea Ceremony- September 13th
The Japan House is hosting a traditional Japanese ceremony on Wednesday September 13th from 5:30-6:30. The event is at 2000 S Lincoln Avenue in Urbana. The mission of Japan House is “To bring about cultural understanding, to offer exposure to new perspectives and, ultimately, to give a necessary refuge for all to embrace tranquility in an immersive and experiential environment.” It seems like this is a great way for you to experience this is by attending and learning about the tea ceremony. Krannert Opening Night-September 14th
Thursday September 14th you can’t miss the opening night party at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts! Starting at 6:20 there be performances by Matt Stewart, the James Jones Trio, Samantha Fish, and Soulive. You can participate in guitar pick jewelry-making. Another great feature to check out would be the mini-performances at the Studio Theatre and a community guitar gallery. In addition, you will also enjoy a huge selection of dining options in the food tent. These include Siam Terrace, Rick’s Bakery, El Oasis, Caribbean Grill, Piato, and more! Yoga at the Krannert Art Museum- September 15th
Take a break in the middle of your Friday to experience this free yoga class open to the public! It will go through the fundamentals of poses, breath awareness and relaxation. 3D Print Your Own Fidget Spinner- September 15th
Come out to the Illinois MakerLab to learn the basics of 3D printing and go home with a fidget spinner! You can find the event in room 3030 of the Business Instruction Facility at 515 E Gregory, Champaign. The cost for this 90 minute workshop is $15. Illini Baseball- September 16th
Come out and support the Fighting Illini Baseball team in their fall opener against Illinois-Springfield at 11am. The game is free and open to the public. Most noteworthy, this is one of only two fall games against outside opponents before the annual Orange and Blue World Series coming up later this month. Click here for more information.
